Stone Soup: The Traveler Toilet Paper Roll Craft

Stone Soup: Traveller TP Roll Craft This cute cut and paste craft uses a toilet paper roll craft to create the character of the Traveler from the Portuguese fable of Stone Soup. Children can use their creativity to add a three dimensional effect to the character of the Traveler.

Materials:

a toilet paper roll or cardboard tube,
printer,
glue,
scissors,
something to colour with,
a piece of paper

Instructions:

Print out the template of choice.
Color the pieces if using the B&W version. Give the kids the chance to be creative and let them use their favorite tools -- colored pencils, crayons, markers, pastels or paints. Whatever inspires them today.
Carefully cut out the craft templates. This may require some adult assistance for some of the tougher pieces.
Glue the large rectangular piece around the top of the toilet paper roll.
Glue the belt around the middle section of the toilet paper roll.
Glue the Traveler’s head onto the top of the toilet paper roll.
Glue the arms on the sides.
Glue the feet onto the bottom of the toilet paper roll, bending the tabs to make a 3D effect.
Glue the soup and ingredients into the hands.

Animals: I adore my pets and they bring me so much joy, but oh, the chores! Why can’t they clean up after themselves?

I earned my degree back in the early '90s, and as a lifelong learner, I continue to delve into the things I love. This includes technology (though I struggle to keep up!), art, early childhood education, history, and mythology as it relates to sociology.
