DLTK's Educational Activities
Shapes Buddies Worksheets
Note: Kristi E. Urbelis, M.S. contributed this project and very kindly sent along Templates to go with. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to use the templates for the internet (long techy story *grin*). I put some of my own Templates together because I thought her idea was so useful. Thanks Kristi!
Materials:
- paper
- printer
- glue
- something to color with (if using the B&W versions)
Instructions:
- Print out the template of choice -- you need the shapes buddy worksheet and shapes cards template for each shape.
- OPTION: if you decide not to use the shapes cards Templates, you could just have the children use crayons to draw pictures of that shape on the shapes buddy worksheet.
- Children cut out the shapes cards (good scissor skills practice) and paste the 4 pictures with the matching shape to the Shapes Buddy worksheet. The two non-matching shapes can be discarded or glued on the back of the worksheet.
- These worksheets are very simple for beginning learners (and help children with scissor skills)
Templates:
- Close the template window after
printing to return to this screen.
- Set page margins to zero if
you have trouble fitting the template on one page (FILE, PAGE SETUP or FILE,
PRINTER SETUP in
most browsers).
