Emperor Toilet Paper Roll Craft

Children can make this fun and simple, three dimensional character of the Emperor from the Emperor's New Clothes using a toilet paper roll and their cut and paste skills.

Materials:

a toilet paper roll or cardboard tube,
printer,
glue,
scissors,
something to colour with,
a piece of paper

Instructions:

Print out the template of choice.
Color the Emperor from The Emperor's New Clothes if using the B&W version. Give the kids the chance to be creative and let them use their favorite tools -- colored pencils, crayons, markers, pastels or paints. Whatever inspires them today.
Carefully cut out the craft templates. Take your time and remember that you don't have to be perfect!
Glue the large rectangular piece around the toilet paper tube.
Glue the head onto the top of the toilet paper roll.
Glue the arms on the side.
Glue the feet onto the bottom of the toilet paper roll, bending the tabs to make a 3D effect.
Glue the funny underwear into one of the hands.

Technology: I love how it connects us and makes things easier, but why does it have to change so quickly?
Trivia Nights: I'm your go-to person for fun facts, yet somehow, I always end up in second or third place. Frustrating!
Gardening: I like to think I have a green thumb, but it has a few brown speckles. My plants and I are working on it.
Animals: I adore my pets and they bring me so much joy, but oh, the chores! Why can’t they clean up after themselves?

I earned my degree back in the early '90s, and as a lifelong learner, I continue to delve into the things I love. This includes technology (though I struggle to keep up!), art, early childhood education, history, and mythology as it relates to sociology.
