I used this idea to decorate my door for spring.  I glued my version of a bird shape in red or blue to white construction paper and then used the kids handprints for the wings.  I cut out a construction paper beak and feet and added two black dots for eyes.  I then laminated the birds, cut them out and mounted them to my door with the title "Fine Feathered Friends".
